AUDITIONS for Quantum Voyages
CASCaDe (Collective for Arts-Science, Creativity and Discovery, etc.) participates in the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology with performances of Quantum Voyages! This production will travel to Anaheim, CA for the American Physical Society Meeting in March of 2025, and will return home to performances in the new, ADA-compliant Colwell Playhouse in April 2025!
Quantum Voyages is an adventure tale of two voyagers exploring the quantum realm guided by the spirit of wisdom, accompanied by a quantum ensemble, and illumined by quantum sages - real-life physicists.
We are holding auditions for the following 9 roles
ROLES:
Sapienza, the spirit of wisdom
Terra, a voyager prone to flights of fancy
Akash, a voyager, not prone to flights of fancy
Quantum Ensemble, 6 performers to play multiple roles from Schrödinger to bundles of light
Note: 3 performers from Le Petit Cirque (aerial and contortion) will also join the ensemble. These roles are pre-cast.
WHO:
You! Roles are open to students, faculty and staff from any department and all residents of Urbana-Champaign.
WHAT:
Come ready to move and do cold readings from the script.

TIME COMMITMENT:
Rehearsals will generally be on
Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. and
Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
All rehearsals take place in KCPA

TRAVEL AND PERFORMANCE IN ANAHEIM, CA:
March 12 – March 16, 2025

PICKUP REHEARSALS in KCPA:
April 11, 2025 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m.
April 12, 2025 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
TECH in KCPA:
April 14 – 17, 2025
*Tech rehearsals are generally longer with call times for actors as early as 5:30 p.m.
PERFORMANCES in COLWELL PLAYHOUSE:
April 18, 2025 (Invited Dress)
April 19, 2025
*These generally occur in the 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. range.
